Thanksgiving Reflection: Thankful for the Deer Crash

Two years ago, just two days before Thanksgiving, a deer ran into our family car.
In that moment, nothing about it felt like a blessing.

We suddenly lost our main vehicle and were left trying to fit six people into a four-person car.
Errands became complicated, schedules became tight, and I felt tied to my husband’s routine just to get simple things done.
Those were heavy days.
I had to lean on God in ways I hadn’t before.
Waiting became my teacher… patience became my daily prayer.
For three months, we waited for the insurance money.
During that same time, my husband was between jobs and dealing with back pain — unable to work for almost a month.
It truly felt like a storm kept circling our home, one thing after another.
I remember asking God, “What’s next?”
It felt overwhelming, confusing, and honestly… unfair.
But now, two years later, I can finally see the story clearly.
What I thought was a burden was actually a blessing being shaped behind the scenes.
The timing of everything — even the crash — ended up being perfect for our family.
God was protecting, preparing, and providing in ways I couldn’t see at the time.
And isn’t that how life works?
Even in bookkeeping, I see it all the time:
A business owner thinks a slow season means failure…
A messy set of books feels like a setback…
Unexpected expenses feel like a loss…
But later, those same “interruptions” become turning points —
the moment they get organized, the moment they hire help,
the moment everything starts aligning for growth.
This Thanksgiving, I’m thankful for the seasons that didn’t make sense at first.
For the storms that pushed me closer to God.
For the waiting that strengthened my faith.
And for a deer crash that turned out to be one of the biggest hidden blessings in our family story.
At Kuznetsov Bookkeeping, I walk with business owners through the confusing moments — and help bring clarity, order, and peace to the places that feel overwhelming.
