Thankful Reflection: Moving from a Big City to a Small Town

When we packed up our life and moved from the big city to a small town, I didn’t realize how much peace was waiting for us here.

The city had its rush — deadlines, traffic, and noise that never seemed to stop. But here, mornings start with quiet roads and friendly waves. Evenings end with the sound of kids playing outside and neighbors checking in just to say hello. It felt like stepping back to a place where time slows down enough for you to actually breathe.
At first, it was hard — fewer stores, longer drives, fewer “options.” But over time, I began to see the blessing. In the small town, people see each other. You notice faces, you remember names, and community feels real.
In business, it’s the same way. Big systems and numbers matter, but what really changes everything is the personal connection. As a bookkeeper, I’ve learned that success isn’t just about growth — it’s about peace of mind, trust, and being known by name.
This Thanksgiving, I’m thankful for small-town life — for the slower pace, the honest smiles, and the space it gives to build something meaningful.
“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10
At Kuznetsov Bookkeeping, I help small-business owners find that same peace — clarity in their books, calm in their business, and confidence in their next steps.
