Thankful for Good Neighbors — and Good Help

Moving from the big city to a small town had its own kind of math to balance.
We traded traffic lights for rolling hills… and oh, that hill needs mowing!

Our battery mower didn’t stand a chance — one charge barely made it halfway. But that’s when we discovered something priceless: community support.
Our neighbors came to help us mow when we needed it most. Their kids became friends with ours. Rain or shine, they’d still show up in the mornings — bundled in coats — knocking on our door just to say “hi.”
And every morning as I’m in the kitchen, I find myself wondering… will those little footsteps come today?
Their presence has become a reminder that sometimes all we need is someone who shows up.
It made me think about small business life too — how we all need a neighbor, a helping hand.
In bookkeeping, just like in life, it’s hard to manage every “hill” alone. Some tasks drain your energy faster than your mower’s battery. But with the right support beside you, even steep slopes become manageable.
So this Thanksgiving, I’m thankful —
for good neighbors, for friendship, and for every small business owner who keeps showing up, rain or shine.
Sometimes all we need is presence.
And sometimes, your presence is exactly what keeps someone else going.
If you ever feel overwhelmed by your “financial hills,” I’m here to help you climb them.
